September 2025

The way forward this September is ascension in consciousness, even when the road feels anything but direct. This is not a month for simple answers or straightforward paths.

This September is a month where the universe invites us to spiral upwards, circling back over old ground and revisiting terrain we thought long behind us, yet discovering that each return is layered with new insight.

Progress is not linear, but its purpose is profound, and the weaving of cosmic influences suggests that the times are indeed extraordinary.

Much of September is shaped by the profound influence of the three transcendental planets - Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - all bound together by orb in a rare and potent dance.

Neptune in Aries casts a visionary light through sextiles to both Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini, while Uranus and Pluto remain in their harmonious trine. These three outer planets, often considered the movers of generations rather than individuals, create a backdrop that transcends the personal and points us to the collective, to the sweeping changes shaping the era. Their message is clear: the old world is dissolving, and a new one is forming.  Whether we step willingly into the wonder of it or cling fearfully to what is passing will make all the difference in how we experience this time.  It is a reminder not to get in our own way, but rather to allow the magic of transformation to unfold.

And yet, as if echoing the human tendency to move two steps back for every one step forward, September begins with a retreat.

On September 1st, Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces [4:07 AM EDT].  For some, this may feel like an unwelcome revisitation, for we thought we were free of Saturn in Pisces when it entered Aries last May.  But Saturn - the great teacher - knows when lessons remain unfinished.  It insists we return to the classroom of Pisces, a realm of dreams, illusions, compassion, and dissolution, reminding us that some matters still require resolution.  Saturn will remain here until mid-February 2026, giving us time to face what has lingered unresolved: old griefs, lingering doubts, or karmic residues that need to be dissolved in Pisces’ waters before the fires of Aries can burn unencumbered.

This shift may stir anxieties about stability.  As the collective wrestles with increasing turbulence and volatility, we may feel personal worries surface about our own security - financial, emotional, spiritual. Yet even as fear whispers, clarity soon follows.

On September 2nd, Mercury exits Leo to enter its own sign of Virgo [9:23 AM EDT].  In Virgo, Mercury sharpens our minds.  Critical faculties strengthen, analysis becomes clearer, and we are less likely to be swayed by appearances alone.  The waters of Saturn in Pisces may stir emotion, but Mercury in Virgo grounds us in practicality, enabling us to discern truth from illusion, fact from fiction.

This theme of discerning truth will be vital, for we live in the post-modern age where subjectivity often parades as objectivity, where opinion is mistaken for fact, and where fiction is readily believed as reality.

The disconnect between what is and what is assumed may become glaring around September 3rd, when Mercury forms a square to Uranus.  This aspect is notorious for its disruptions.  Travel can be delayed, technology may falter, and misunderstandings abound.  The square forces us to acknowledge that the world is shifting into a new paradigm, one where time no longer unfolds sequentially and where surprises are the norm.  It is an aspect that asks for vigilance: what we expect may not occur, and what arrives may appear without warning.  It is also, frankly, one of the most troublesome configurations for travel and communication, demanding heightened caution.

As though the mental disruptions of Mercury–Uranus were not enough, the following day, September 4th, Mars squares Jupiter.  The combination is combustible, inflating impulses and pushing us toward overreach. We may feel compelled to act boldly, but our timing could be off, or our direction misguided.  Enthusiasm can give way to recklessness.  This is a day when slowing down is wise, tapping the brakes rather than charging forward blindly.

September 6th deepens the theme of retrospection as Uranus turns retrograde.  Just as Saturn has retraced its steps back into Pisces, Uranus will retrograde through Gemini and slip back into Taurus before resuming forward motion in 2026.  The cosmic message is unmistakable: this is a season of recapitulation.  Even as we long to surge forward, the universe pulls us back to unfinished matters. Old issues resurface, demanding our attention.  Progress will come, but not without this revisiting, this cleaning of the slate.  The lesson is clear - until we deal with the residue of the past, the future cannot be fully embraced.

On September 7th, we encounter a turning point.  The Full Moon in Pisces [2:09 PM EDT] is also a Lunar Eclipse.  Here, the Virgo Sun opposes the Pisces Moon, illuminating the need for balance between outer obligations and inner life.  The tension is palpable: many of us lean too heavily into work, burning ourselves out in a workaholic mode; others swing the opposite way, losing ourselves in escapism.  The Pisces Eclipse calls for equilibrium. It reminds us of the Biblical injunction: “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s.”   Neither worldly duty nor spiritual growth can be neglected.  To thrive, we must walk with one foot in each realm.

The days following the eclipse offer opportunities for expansion and refinement.

On September 12th, both the Sun and Mercury form sextiles to Jupiter.  These alignments expand our horizons while keeping us grounded in practicality.  Long-term goals can be clarified, strategies refined, and resources used wisely.  The cosmic invitation is to work smarter, not harder, to streamline efforts while ensuring beauty and creativity remain woven into our endeavors.

The following day, September 13th, the Sun conjunct Mercury further highlights planning, organization, and effective communication.  Efforts toward clarity, both in thought and action, are well-supported.

September 15th softens the tone with sweetness in relationships as Venus sextiles Mars.  Mars in Libra and Venus in Leo form a gentle, collaborative link that favors enjoyment, romance, and camaraderie. This is a brief but welcome reprieve - a time to delight in connection, pleasure, and shared experiences.  Yet, as always, the cosmos balances light with shadow.

On September 17th, Mercury opposes Saturn, threatening to dampen moods with criticism, worry, or pessimism.  It is easy to fall into victim mentality or focus only on what is wrong.

But Saturn is also a planet of discipline, and this aspect can be used constructively if we choose.  By acknowledging old issues and clearing mental clutter, we prepare the way for breakthroughs.

Those breakthroughs come swiftly, for on September 18th Mercury enters Libra [6:06 AM EDT], opposing Neptune soon after. Confusion may swirl, but the call is toward compassion - toward being gentle with ourselves and with others, even amidst uncertainty.

September 19th is one of the most luminous days of the season.   Mercury in Libra forms trines to both Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, completing an Air Grand Trine. The energy sparkles with brilliance.

Conversations inspire, ideas flow, and insights illuminate the way forward.  This is a day of breakthroughs, encouraging us to step off old ledges and soar toward new vistas.  On the same day, Venus enters Virgo [8:39 AM EDT], creating a Mutual Reception with Mercury, Venus being in the Sign ruled by Mercury and Mercury in the Sign ruled by Venus.  Relationships strengthen, support appears, and alliances are fortified.  The currents of connection run strong, lifting us beyond old boundaries.

The dance of the cosmos is never static. On September 20th, Venus squares Uranus, bringing surprise, quirkiness, and potential disruptions to relationships.  Individuality is highlighted, but with the risk of alienation if uniqueness becomes too extreme.  The reminder is to temper hypercriticism and embrace acceptance.  Allow others to be themselves, and ourselves likewise.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo on September 21st [3:54 PM EDT] intensifies this theme.  With its kite pattern and opposition to Saturn, the New Moon underscores the need to refine, streamline, and reallocate resources.  As summer wanes, we may recognize the toll of excess -emotional, financial, or physical.  The Eclipse invites us to step back, evaluate, and set intentions that align with our highest efficiency and purpose.  Though the temptation may be to revert to old ways, the path forward demands adaptation.

On September 22nd, just before the Autumn Equinox, Mars leaves Libra for Scorpio, the Sign that Mars co-rules with Pluto.  Here, Mars finds strength, reigniting passion and determination. Where Libra softened Mars’ fire, Scorpio intensifies it, making us decisive, focused, and resolute. Later that day, the Sun enters Libra [2:19 PM EDT], heralding the autumn equinox and setting the tone for the months ahead.  The equinox chart is potent: the Sun forms a kite pattern with trines to Uranus and Pluto, while opposing Saturn and Neptune, while both Saturn and Neptune sextile Uranus in Gemini and sextile Pluto in Aquarius.  The transcendental planets remain strongly engaged, emphasizing radical transformation, technological advancement, and the continuing dissolution of the old
order.

As September draws to a close, confusion and wonder intermingle.  On September 23rd, the Sun opposes Neptune and the Sun trines Uranus, creating the sense of being swept along by forces larger than ourselves.  We may feel both co-creator and passenger, shaping events even as we are carried into unknown currents.

The following day, September 24th, the Sun trines Pluto but Mars squares Pluto, underscoring the intensity of transformation.  Pluto demands authenticity, stripping away what is false, whether gently or violently. The mantra is “adapt or die.”   Resistance invites upheaval; acceptance allows flow.

September 2025 is a month of paradox, of retrospection and revelation, of confusion and clarity.  It is a month where the old world continues to crumble even as the new one rises in its place.  Saturn and Uranus insist we revisit unfinished business, while the eclipses highlight balance and refinement.  The equinoctial season begins with a chart of profound transformation.  Confusion may reign, yet confusion is itself the threshold of wisdom.  For when old certainties dissolve, new truths emerge.

The times are indeed a’changing, and September offers us the chance to rise with them - eyes open, heart willing, and spirit attuned to the miraculous unfolding of these days.

September 2025… a new age is upon us…
