October 7, 2007

October 8th - 14th

This week turns up the energy with the Libra New Moon, Mercury turning retrograde for the third and final Mercury retrograde for this year and the third and final Jupiter square Uranus. The week also has Venus entering Virgo, Mars sextile Saturn, Sun sextile Jupiter, Sun trine Neptune and Venus conjunct Saturn.

This week is highly active and starts off in a structured and methodical manner. Ah, yes, the well-laid plans of men can turn awry and we are certainly likely to see that with both the Jupiter square Uranus and the Mercury retrograde.

We may find ourselves bordering on the over-optimistic, over-confident, willing to take risks without fully considering the possible consequences. We might also experience unexpected situations that throw our schedule out of whack.

The Libra New Moon feels the influence of the Neptune trine. We can easily believe that all things are possible, even to the point of getting lost in wish fulfillment. The Mercury retrograde in Scorpio shortly after the New Moon can throw another monkey wrench into our intentions. We might become more concerned about our finances and our resources and start to see the half glass of water as half empty rather than half full. Communications can be off and we have to avoid misunderstandings.

With Venus entering Virgo we could become more critically demanding of our relationships. Interactions with others could come under serious scrutiny over the weekend as Venus conjuncts Saturn.

Monday, October 8th – Mix and Match – Mars, Saturn, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Uranus, Venus Virgo. Columbus Day in the US, Monday starts the week in high tempo. Mars sextiles Saturn. For those on a long holiday weekend that have not gotten out of town, this day could be one of fix-ups and taking care of matters around the home that have been lingering on the ‘to do’ list. For other people, this day could be a shopping day, seeking bargains at Sales Days and looking to fill the gaps in household furniture, linens or obligatory family gifts. The Moon in Virgo creates a Lunar t-Square in the Mutable Signs by squaring Jupiter and opposing Uranus. If we are feeling uncomfortable or a little irritable, we might try to assuage our discontent by distractions and diversions. This Monday could also have us going from one thing to another, looking for adventure or at least to do something out of our ordinary. We might scurry from one thing to another with an overload of planned activities or impulsive desires. Today also has Venus leaving Leo and entering Virgo. We need to watch that we don’t start finding faults in other people or flaws in the way things are. With this build-up of energy today we could easily become hypersensitive, overly critical and raise our expectation level to a point that would be unattainable. It would be best today to slow down, lower our expectations, and be open to the unexpected. This day is a Mix and Match type of day when we’re more likely to work in the broad mosaic of individual quilt squares rather than a cohesive pattern that fits neatly together.

Tuesday, October 9th – Nothing in Half Measure – Sun, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, Mars. Tuesday has two significant Jupiter energies: the Sun sextile Jupiter and Jupiter square Uranus. A sense of confidence and desire for expansion may lead us down a garden path that could turn into twists and turns which can prove harrowing or at least take us in directions we would not have anticipated. Like the Fool in the Tarot system, we might go blithely along unaware of the situations around us or of the conditions in which we find ourselves. Today is a good day to keep a tight rein on our wallet, purse and finances. Our exuberance might turn quickly into extravagance and indulgence. This Tuesday is a day when we may want what we want without considering the ramifications or consequences of our actions. Early in the day, the Virgo Moon squares Pluto ramping up our tendency towards excess as we spread beyond our normal confines. As the day progresses, the Moon moves into Libra where it squares Mars. We need to be careful not to overdo for other people. Let’s keep in mind the necessary give and take in every healthy relationship. Now is not a time to solely take on the role of caretaker or codependent. Today is a day to enjoy the burst of energy we’re likely to feel, to harness it and to channel it in appropriate and measured expressions. Let’s broaden our scope, plan our strategy and then take the essential steps to realize our intentions.

Wednesday, October 10th – Let’s Get Together – Jupiter. Wednesday could be quite a pleasant day. The Libra Moon sextiles Jupiter. We are in the dark of the Moon just before the Libra Lunation, or New Moon, later tonight in the western US or early tomorrow morning in the eastern US and Europe. This is also the day before Mercury turns retrograde. With Mercury virtually stationary, today is a day to take things slow, to stop and smell the flowers and to share with other people. There is not a great deal of energy today, but there is a pleasant and upbeat feeling. If we can get together with friends or have moments with our special someone, then we are using today’s energy in the best way possible. We do have to watch that we’re not trying to do too much today. This can be one of those ‘mental health’ days, when we don’t pressure ourselves or allow conditions to pressure us. Time for a coffee or tea, enjoying the spectacle of autumn splendor and just catching our breath are great ways of enjoying this Wednesday.

Thursday, October 11th – All Things Bright and Beautiful – Libra Lunation, Sun, Neptune, Pluto, Mercury retrograde. Late Wednesday evening, early Thursday morning gives us the Libra New Moon. Imprinting its influence on the next fortnight, this Libra New Moon speaks to all things possible and allows us to go off into a fantasyland. This New Moon has the Sun Moon conjunction sextile Jupiter and trine Neptune. By Sign, we have the Water Grand Trine with Mars in Cancer, Mercury in Scorpio and Uranus in Pisces. The Moon also sextiles Pluto. This day, and the next two weeks, can be a time of seeing the half glass of water as not only half full but in process of overflowing. While we are giving everyone and everything the benefit of the doubt, we have to be especially careful that we’re not looking at things through rose-colored glasses. The potential for buying into images and presentations, even to the point of delusion, cannot be overstated. While there are some wonderful energies operating at the time of the Libra New Moon, we do have two kickers to watch for: Venus conjunct Saturn and Mercury turning retrograde. With Venus conjunct Saturn, exact on this coming Sunday, we may find ourselves reconnecting with people from our past. We might meander down Memory Lane reminiscing about the good old days, days far better in remembrance than in the reality of experience. We could even find ourselves questioning our connections of the past, wondering what the glue was that brought these people into our lives or held our connection together. And with Mercury turning retrograde, backing up through Scorpio and later back into Libra, we need to be especially adept regarding our finances, our debt and our expenses. We could go blithely into the night, embracing irrational exuberance and assuming that we are entitled to the best of everything with no worries, no concerns, nor possible bumps in the road. Such an attitude could be a prescription for disaster. While the energies are robust and enjoyable, it is important for us to maintain a modicum of practicality and take a pragmatic approach to all things. This energy is one where we could easily have our head in the clouds but our feet nowhere near the ground. Let’s enjoy the time but let’s also keep grounded.

Friday, October 12th – the Abundance of Simplicity – Sun, Neptune, Venus, Saturn, Mars, Mercury. Friday continues and even reinforces the feel of yesterday’s New Moon. Today the Sun exactly trines Neptune. Nothing seems beyond us. Even if we do not have the tools, we might assume that we can build from our intentions alone. While the power of belief is an essential ingredient in getting anything done, other ingredients include having the right tools to accomplish our purpose. Today, we could see prospects in everyone and every thing we encounter. While this energy would allow us to buy into wish fulfillment, we also have a counterbalance. The Moon in Scorpio sextiles Venus and Saturn, trines Mars and conjuncts Mercury. We could find the simplest ways to get to where we want to go. Today is not a day to exaggerate or be extravagant. Rather, today is a day when less is more. Our mind is sharp and penetrating. We can devise the most expeditious means to accomplish our plans. Other people might not fully understand our intentions or how we want to do things. So it would be wise to hold our cards close to our chest and instead of giving long-winded explanations, or justifications, as to what we’re doing, why we’re doing it or how we’re doing it, to just do it. This Friday can be a highly productive day. We can trim some of the fat from the overly optimistic and over expansive qualities earlier in the week. Today is a day when we can get lean and mean, to focus on the basics and the fundamentals. We could come to realize that living simply is not simply living. On the contrary, we could discover the cornucopia of simplicity.

Saturday, October 13th – Trimming the Sails – Uranus, Neptune. Saturday has the Scorpio Moon trine Uranus and square Neptune. Whatever our plans might be, today is a day to have no expectations. Whether we follow through on our scheduled activities or do things spontaneously, the outcome might not be what we anticipated. This Saturday offers us the ability of stripping away certain illusions and seeing things from a clearer and more realistic vantage point. Interesting surprises could give credence to the idea that god and the universe have far better plans for us than we could ever imagine for ourselves. Even if situations do not live up to our anticipations, it would be wise to keep in mind the fact that when one door closes, another door or a window opens up. This Saturday is a day for us to get out of our own way, to be in the flow of life’s currents and to suspend judgments and opinions in order to fully experience the awe and wonder of living life on this earth plane.

Sunday, October 14th – The Way We Were – Venus, Saturn. Sunday has the Moon moving from Scorpio into Sagittarius. Our world broadens from an intense dissection and introverted focus to a more expansive and all-inclusive viewpoint. We may feel more upbeat, less insular, than the past two days. We do have Venus conjunct Saturn exact today. Although its influence has been felt since Wednesday-Thursday’s New Moon and will be felt for these two weeks, the Venus Saturn conjunction can have us taking a walk down Memory Lane. We may be in contact with people from our past. In so doing, we might go through the reminiscences of past experiences, sharing the joys of times better remembered in distance than experienced. We could also do a comparison, using any reconnections as a mirror to reflect to us our journey since our last connection with past contacts. We do have to watch that our interactions with others aren’t spiced with heavy expectations. We could easily feel somewhat insecure in our comparisons. We might wonder what the appeal that brought us together back then might have been. We may consider the many miles and diverse experiences that have occurred since our last meeting. And we could also use this energy to expiate our past, to restructure our present in order for our future not to be restricted by old issues, past patterns or early conditioning. We may look at the way we were with the recognition that we no longer want to re-create our past but rather proceed freely into our future.

October 14, 2007

October 15th - 21st

We start this week possibly still smarting over any relationship issues that might have surfaced over this past weekend. Feeling more enthusiastic, thanks to Venus sextile Mars, Mercury sextile Venus and Mercury trine Mars, we can straighten out misunderstandings and heal any slights felt. We can laugh about miscommunications and see them as water over the dam.

This week is far more placid than last week, more on an even keel, with less challenges and greater ease of expression.

With an attitude of gratitude and a good dose of exuberance, we can focus our activities on the pursuit of our ambitions and the realization of our goals.

With Mercury sextile Saturn to end the week, our mind is penetrating and able to fit the various pieces into a concise and well-structured format. Our communications are adept, as we strip away the superfluous and focus on the necessary and the essential. Our mind, our methods and our determination are in high gear.

Over the weekend, the Sun sextiles Pluto. We may feel ourselves going through deep changes, focused on where we want to go. We know the way to get to our destination and we have the passion to impel us forward.

This week is a week to follow our bliss. With our head in the clouds and our feet on the ground, we can draw upon the abstract of our desires and create the practical means to realize our hopes.

Monday, October 15th – Rain on the Parade – Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Venus, Uranus. Monday starts the week with the tempo turned up fast as the Sagittarius Moon creates a Mutable Sign T-Square by squaring Uranus in Pisces and squaring both Venus and Saturn in Virgo. While we could be all over the place, stretching and broadening our reach, we could easily get tripped up by overlooking details and by making assumptions that have no basis in reality. But we’re feeling good, and we don’t want anyone to rain on our parade. If we have naysayers, we could easily find fault with them and certainly not heed their advice or consider their opinions. On the contrary, we may be so blissed out that we let go of our grip on the real world and devise a fantasyland of prospects and possibilities. Today is not a day to be overly focused. We’re not. We’re more likely to look over at things beyond our normal experience and easily overlook things going on under our noses. While it would be far better to juggle different activities and deal superficially with many things, today is not a day to iron out details or consider the specifics. Let’s just be certain that we don’t exhaust ourselves by running around helter skelter and that we keep a ‘to do’ list for a more propitious time to deal with our responsibilities. It just is not today.

Tuesday, October 16th – Firing On all Cylinders – Venus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune, Sun, Pluto. Tuesday is a high energy day when there can be few slip-ups. We’re energized, optimistic and able to speak our piece in a succinct yet diplomatic manner. Venus sextiles Mars and Mercury sextiles Venus. Not only do we have these pleasant combinations but the Moon adds something extra. The Sagittarius Moon conjuncts Jupiter, sextiles Neptune, sextiles the Sun and conjuncts Pluto. We can feel upbeat, impassioned and with a sense of strong support systems. Today is a day to visualize and express our greatest hopes and wishes. Other people lend support to our desires. Not that we need additional support, but it will be nice to have the added encouragement. While we are focused on our goals and looking to expand our activities, we are not so self-absorbed that we are either competitive of other people or unreceptive to other people’s interests. We are doing our personal best and today we can go one better. This Tuesday is a great day. Whether we are taking care of business or just enjoying ourselves, things seem to run smoothly with no hitches and go easily with little effort expended.

Wednesday, October 17tth – Taking Action Methodically – Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Venus. Wednesday follows nicely Tuesday’s sense of exuberance with a concentrated practical approach. Mercury trines Mars, and the Capricorn Moon trines Saturn, sextiles Mercury, opposes Mars and trines Venus. Wednesday is a day to put our plans into action. Our thoughts are clear. We can draw upon our experience and devise the shortest steps to achieve our intentions. Not only can we develop an appropriate structure and system for our goals. We can deal with both the big picture and the smallest details. Things fit neatly together. We do have to be certain not to hold back or be reticent about moving forward. We can advance our dreams and desires by realizing that the things we can conceive we can also achieve. Taking things step by step will move our projects ahead. We may have to balance our interests in the world with our obligations at home. The keyword is balance. Although our energy is focused on our ambitions, we can’t lose sight of those important people in our lives and their issues of significance.

Thursday, October 18th – Fine Tuning – Uranus. Thursday has the Capricorn Moon sextile Uranus. It is always wise to keep in mind the essential characteristic of adaptability. Whenever we progress with a project, we need to realize that it has a life of its own with reworking and fine tuning as we move it along. This Thursday is a day for fine tuning our involvements. We may want to make certain changes to our daily routine. We don’t have to drop the ball but we can be flexible to necessary changes, making those changes that are essential and keeping in mind continual revisions as we go along. If we can get off the track, even briefly, we could experience an ‘ah-ha’ moment of realizing how we could improve situations and facilitate streamlined conditions. There is not the same dynamic energy we’ve had over the past two days. But we can consider innovative alterations and then take time to do things on the spur of the moment.

Friday, October 19th – Less Is More – Mercury, Saturn, Sun. Friday gives us the ability to strip things down to their basics and to be lean and mean. Today is a great day to go over our finances, create a budget and see where we can pare down our expenses. Mercury sextiles Saturn. We can look at the details and see where we can cut and how we can best streamline our operations. Today is a day when we can prioritize and pay attention to the most important issues in our lives. Today would also be a good day to consider our health regimen, see how we can improve our diet and create less stress in our lives. The Capricorn Moon squares the Sun. We may be very matter-of-fact today and that could provoke irritation in our relationships. As the day progresses, the Moon moves into Aquarius where it squares Mercury. The best laid plans we make can come to naught as our desire for freedom and autonomy could get in the way of our pared-down activity list. We might just want to do what we want to do and could wind up putting on hold, or postponing, our well-considered systems and our pragmatic approach. Although we might deviate from our straight and narrow, we can limit any major indulgences by keeping in mind that less is more… at least for today.

Saturday, October 20th – Going for the Gold – Sun, Pluto, Jupiter. Saturday can be a truly splendid day, especially if we take the time to do something special with our significant other. Saturday is a day for us to spread our wings, express our deepest desires and share our enthusiasm for the people in our lives. The Sun sextiles Pluto. Impassioned by life and by someone in our life, we can feel on top of the world and ready to broaden our perspective and widen our realm. With the Aquarius Moon sextile Jupiter, the sense of getting out of Dodge, going into unfamiliar territory and enjoying the company of that special someone or special people in our lives can make this day like a muppet adventure: in search of good friends and good times. This Saturday we’re likey to feel pumped and wanting to explore all prospects.

Sunday, October 21st – Dreamtime – Neptune, Pluto, Sun, Mercury. Sunday can have us in dreamtime where all things are possible. The Aquarius Moon conjuncts Neptune, sextiles Pluto and trines the Sun. Sunday is a day to consider all possibilities. Let’s recognize that nothing is impossible if we believe it to be plausible. We may not know how to achieve our desires but if we are willing to nurture our dreams and embrace our hopes and wishes, our intentions can make them seem far more likely to be realized. Later in the day, the Moon moves into Pisces where it trines Mercury. This Sunday can be moody, impressionable and filled with fantastic images. Let’s allow ourselves to daydream and let our mind wander into the realm of the miraculous. Increasingly, we are moving into the paradigm shift of asequential reality whereby things can come about in the most unexpected ways. Today we can fuel the fires of possibilities by allowing ourselves to meander through the realm of the idyllic and a world of limitless possibilities. We may seek out social gatherings or get-togethers with friends. Taking in a movie or a concert in the park, a walk by a lake or stream or along the seashore can spark the sense of what a wonderful world we live in. En joy!

October 21, 2007

October 22nd - 28th

This week has two Sign changes as the Sun exits Libra to enter Scorpio and Mercury retrograde exits Scorpio to enter Libra. In our social interactions, we may do the dance but we’re unlikely to reveal too much of ourselves.

The issue of relationship could become pronounced as Venus opposes Uranus. With a sense of ‘the grass being greener’, we could look beyond our normal relationships for different and more exciting connections. While infatuations might be flying this week, we do need to be careful that we’re not looking for something out of our ordinary just for the sake of adventure and change.

Toward the end of the week, the Taurus Full Moon provides us the measure of what we have with what we want. We may do a very significant inventory taking, seeing what our lives are about, measuring those things truly important to us and those things we hold on to like a security blanket,

Mercury sextiles Pluto and our ability to get to the substance of matters regarding our relationships is evident in heart-to-heart discussions. We want to know if we are on the same page as our significant other in regard to our future and the way we want to live our lives.

This week is a time to delve below the surface, do internal questioning, and come to an understanding of what is essential for our lives and what are fluff, decorations and the extraneous.

Monday, October 22nd – From Soup to Nuts – Saturn, Mars, Venus, Uranus. Monday is the 22nd, a master number in numerology that indicates the master builder. And this Monday’s energies speak specifically to the idea of putting it all together. Monday has the Pisces Moon opposed Venus and Saturn, conjunct Uranus and trine Mars. If we don’t vacillate or get caught up in being either hypersensitive or hypercritical, this Monday could be an incredibly effective day of developing concepts from the abstract and realizing our plans through best practices. We can devise the most effective and streamlined means to achieve our goals. We do have to be careful that we don’t get stuck on finetuning to the nth degree. Our plans may change but any consideration of alternative options could be part of the refining and reworking productive in getting to the best methodology. This Monday can be a high energy day when we’re juggling several different things and taking care of both what we need to do and initiating some of our future ambitions. The key liability would be a carping attitude and any tendency towards seeing the half glass as half empty rather than the potential of it overflowing.

Tuesday, October 23rd – Cutting to the Bone - Mercury, Sun, Jupiter, Pluto, Sun Scorpio, Mercury Libra. Tuesday has the potential for being somewhat confusing but only if we have so much going on that we lose our focus and do not heed the specific details. The Pisces Moon squares both Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius before the Moon exits Pisces to enter Aries later in the day. We may want what we want and there could be a tendency towards excess. If we go in that direction, let’s consider whether our indulgences are looking to create comfort zones to mask our insecurities. With all the craziness going on in the world, we may feel as though we’re walking on thin ice and anxious about our actions, our intentions and our capabilities. Our confusion can be ramped up by means of the Sun and Mercury exchanging signs with the Sun moving out of Libra and coming into Scorpio while the retrograde Mercury backs out of Scorpio to enter Libra. While we might wonder whether we are coming or going, today is a day to cut to the core, get down to the basics and consider the fundamentals. Once we have a grip on what is truly essential, we can rebuild from there. Today is a good day to hone our projects and our activities. If we can keep in mind that there are times when less is more, then we can rid ourselves of the superfluous and extraneous and focus on the fundamentals. Today, instead of getting more stuff, it would be wiser for us to do an autumnal cleanup of inventory taking, sorting out and getting rid of the garbage and the needless extras in our lives.

Wednesday, October 24th – Leaving the Nest – Mars. Although Wednesday is often considered ‘hump’ day, this Wednesday can allow us a bit of a breather from the high intensity of the past two days. Today we have an Aries Moon that squares Mars in Cancer. Although there is not a great deal of energy today compared to the last two days or the next two days, today gives us a Mutual Reception, for the Moon is in the Sign ruled by Mars and Mars is in the Sign ruled by the Moon. Today would be a good day to consider new starts and beginning new projects all with the backup of our experience and our expertise. We have to watch for being somewhat self-conscious but that could also prove a good monitoring factor in order to keep us from moving too far, too fast. An image to keep in mind is the falcon tied by its talons to someone’s wrist. Not that we’re looking to be held back by someone or even by our own insecurities. On the contrary, we can move forward, initiating new projects, getting involved in new activities, all with the sense that we are not launching to become lost in space but rather that we can always come back to our home base and that we can use the support of our past and the experiences we’ve had to provide a support system and a filtering factor regarding new projects. Today would also be a good day to make some additions and changes to our living space, even if it’s only bringing in a bouquet of Spring flowers to give us the sense that our new interests can flower and can have the vibrancy of rebirth that the Spring season promises.

Thursday, October 25th – Great Expectations – Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, Mercury. Thursday has Venus opposed Uranus. Unexpected contacts could be made today. In our interactions with other people, we might see sides to them, or to ourselves, that we’ve never been totally aware of. We do have to be concerned that we’re not looking for something exciting, or challenging, that is thrilling only because it is new and different and adds spice to our normal circumstances. This energy can be one where the grass is greener everywhere except where we are standing. While we could become suddenly infatuated by someone or by a situation, we also have to be cautious that we’re not buying into the package before investigating the contents. Today is a day when we could be easily snookered by our desire to do something different. It would be far wiser for us to get off the track, explore a new activity or a new contact without having any expectations where it might lead. Some of the unexpected situations that could arise today may be there for a moment and not much more. This Thursday also has the Aries Moon trining Jupiter and Pluto, sextiling Neptune and opposing Mercury. We could be easily entranced by something that stirs our passion, heightens our sense of possibilities but we do have to allow our reasoning mind to critique and monitor the situation before we jump in with both feet. While the energies today speak to the new and the thrilling, it could also set us up to be pigeons ready for the plucking by hucksters. An element of go slow today would be advised, but I might be merely spitting into the wind. Today is a day to expect the unexpected but let’s be careful that we don’t accept merely our first impressions.

Friday, October 26th – Classic Style – Mercury, Pluto, Taurus Full Moon, Sun, Saturn, Mars, Uranus, Venus. If we didn’t fall head over our heels yesterday and get a good bump on our head through a wakeup call, Friday would offer us the ability of really looking at the essence and fundamentals of any matter. With Mercury sextile Pluto, our perception may be laser-like. We might find ourselves encountering people that come with little agenda but rather present themselves based upon the power of their being rather than the superficialities of hype or made-up appearance. This Friday has some great energies. The Mercury sextile Pluto allows our communications to cut to the core, focus on the significant issues and allows us to speak from our heart but with our mind engaged. The Taurus Full Moon may bring up security issues, whether it’s our position in the wild caroming of markets --- stock markets, housing markets, impacts of inflationary pressures, etc. --- and how we can best cope with a world that often seems to be spinning out of control. With the Taurus Moon opposing the Sun, trining both Saturn and Venus in Virgo, sextiling Mars in Cancer and sextiling Uranus in Pisces; today is a great day for us to budget, to consider our finances and create the means to deal with our expenditures and our revenue stream. We can see what is necessary and that which we can pare down or even eliminate from our lives. While the issue of security might be on our minds, we can come to the realization that we, and perhaps only we as individuals, can truly deal with the vagaries of these hurly-burly times. While we might continue to pay lip service to the authorities and the powers that be, we might also realize that it is us who have to take machete in hand and carve our own path through the jungle of chaos. It is not an issue of questioning authority but rather a recognition that power structures may not hold the answer. Yes, today is a great day to take on our responsibilities, accept accountability and make our plans to maintain a sense of stability during rather insecure times.

Saturday, October 27th – Niggling Concerns - Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Even if we took a stand yesterday, accepted responsibilities for our actions and for our future, Saturday could have us questioning and wondering if we have full information to make our decisions and move forward. We might not, but full information during a time of disinformation and shifting sands might not be available. We can only do the best we can. While the Taurus Moon squares Neptune early in the day, we might find our sleep state late Friday into early Saturday a little anxious. We might have niggling concerns about whether we’ve covered the base or if we have headed off like Alice tripping through the rabbit hole. An element of confusion is likely and consequently it would be wise not to make any significant decisions or long-term commitments today. Let’s put certain things on hold with the recognition that we don’t have full information or the fact that we might have a skewed perspective from which to view things. Although we awaken slightly concerned, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for much of the day, close to seventeen hours, with the Moon making no further connections to the planets before leaving Taurus and entering Gemini. The energy just might not be there to carry things forth. Running errands, attending to household chores and straightening things up would be a far better use of the day than trying to move mountains.

Sunday, October 28th – Push Pulls – Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Uranus. Should I write ‘get used to it’? Sunday gives us a Mutable Sign T-Square, as the Gemini Moon squares Saturn in Virgo and squares Uranus in Pisces. The play by opposition of Saturn and Uranus is an energy that started by Sign last month and continues on over the next two years. The issue regarding these two energies is the point counterpoint of old and new. And this Sunday could have us stretched between our past patterns and new configurations. Although we might flip between our experience and the innovative, we are likely to find ourselves betwixt and between the old paradigm of linear, sequential reality and the new paradigm of asequential reality, also known as magic and miracles. This day could be somewhat confusing as we seek to accomplish our planned activities all the while that we’re champing at the bit wanting to get beyond our usual circumstance and embrace new adventures. If we have certain things scheduled, it is essential that we allow ourselves spontaneous moments, those moments when we can add a little variety and spice to our plans. Otherwise, we might resent not being able to call our time our own. Today is day when we could feel like we’re trying to cover all the bases, both our planned activities and doing things on the spur-of-the-moment. The less we create an itinerary for the day, the more we can take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Of course, we also have to realize that everything may not go according to plan. Time to keep in mind the Taoist saying: ‘bend like a reed or break like an oak’.

October 28, 2007

October 29th - November 4th

This week ends October and begins November and is punctuated by two planetary direction changes. First Neptune then Mercury turns direct this week. With Mercury turning direct, we end our third and final Mercury retrograde of the year. Can we breathe a sigh of relief? To some degree we certainly can as Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong will’ is put on hold until we come into 2008.

This week can be a pleasant week of attending to home affairs, dealing with family and friends, looking for social interactions and even getting down to the business of straightening and sorting things out. We might feel that we’re drawing from a broad palette this week, and we are likely to be doing so.

If we keep in mind the idea that we want to be more productive with less expenditure of energy, then in all our activities we can focus on the truly important and those situations that offer us the best return for our investment of time and energy.

There seem to be few major glitches this week, which may come as welcome news during these generally turbulent times. The primary concern would be the traffic issues, miscommunications and misunderstandings that could arise mid-week as Mercury is in process of turning direct. Apart from that, this week can be enjoyable and allows us to have various irons in the fire, all the while that we’re both having fun and attending to our responsibilities.

Monday, October 29th – Follow a Dream – Venus, Jupiter, Sun, Saturn, Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Pluto. Monday could start the week in overdrive. This day is an energy-filled one with Venus square Jupiter, Sun sextile Saturn and Jupiter sextile Neptune. We may have pages and pages on our activity list with the desire to deal with our responsibilities, take time with our friends and explore possibilities for our future. We do have to watch for overload. Either we could have too much on our plate to handle or we could be rather extravagant in our time, our plans and our expenditures. Adding to the harried feeling of scurrying around, we have the Moon in Gemini. The Moon in Gemini alone would be cause for our juggling any number of activities. But the Gemini Moon has fuel added to the fire by reason of a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Venus and opposes both Jupiter and Pluto. We may go from one thing to another to another, possibly glossing over details and just wanting more, more, more. Our interests may be insatiable as we look to expand into new horizons and broaden our reach. The Moon also trines Neptune today. We could easily be seduced by following a dream. We have to be sure that our dream is not an illusion that could wind up costing us great expense in time, distraction and financial cost. While the energy is ratcheted up severalfold today, the more we can keep a grip on reality, then we can explore possibilities without going off the deep end by committing too soon or too easily to something that appears great but whose reality may be more image than substance. Monday is a day to go slow or at least to put on the brakes occasionally.

Tuesday, October 30th - Right Place at the Right Time – Saturn, Mars, Lunar Grand Trine, Sun, Uranus. If we didn’t go into overwhelm yesterday and create a mess for ourselves in need of cleaning up, this Tuesday can be one of those truly special days. Tuesday we could be feeling zippadee doodah and singing that ‘everything’s going our way’. This Tuesday is one of those days when we could feel that we’ve entered magic time, one of those times when we don’t have to make things happen as much as having our antennae up, working with peripheral vision and being open to receive the blessings of the universe. Does that sound a little too marvelous? Perhaps, but this Tuesday gives us a great deal of energy, a great amount of sensitivity and the likelihood of some wonderful and interesting surprises during the day. Today, we have the Cancer Moon conjunct Mars, sextile Saturn and creating a Grand Trine in the Water Element by trining the Sun in Scorpio and trining Uranus in Pisces. Who could ask for anything more? Yes, this Tuesday is one when we can focus on what needs to be done, resolve issues around the home and deal with family situations. But this day is also one to be open to the spontaneous, to those things coming out of the blue and to embrace the wonder and miracles of living life on the earth plane. We are likely to feel warm and cozy today. We may want to feather our nest, adding touches to our home environment. We might take the time to step off the ledge into some new adventure and instead of free falling find that we’re freely ascending. Certainly our moods are more upbeat and our nerves are less frazzled than the past few days. This Tuesday is one when we don’t have to make things happen as much as working with the energies and the surprises that may come our way.

Wednesday, October 31 – Trick or Treat – Venus, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune direct. Wednesday is Halloween and the dichotomy between tricks and treats may be part of our scenario today. We start the day with the Cancer Moon sextile Venus and square Mercury. We also have Neptune turning direct. We may feel that we’re decked out in our costume looking to have fun and a good time. The reality may be somewhat different. Comments made or conversations engaged could have us feeling misunderstood, slighted or emotionally hurt. Wednesday is a day when we need to tread lightly, take everything with a grain of salt and not take things too seriously. There can be a great deal of confusion to start the day. Let’s also keep in mind that this is the last day of the Mercury retrograde and we could be feeling our mind to be a mish-mash of discombobulated ideas and thoughts. Today is a day to keep in mind, almost mantram-like, the old saying that ‘life’s too mysterious, don’t take it serious’. As the day progresses, the Moon goes void-of-course for eleven and a half hours making no further connections while finishing its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo. Wednesday is a day to allow ourselves to feel a little unsure about things and not to make major decisions or long-term commitments.

Thursday, November 1st – More or Less – Sun, Mercury direct. Thursday begins November and we begin it with the Leo Moon square the Sun in Scorpio and with Mercury ending its three-week retrograde cycle and turning direct. Our desire to put our mark on our projects can be in conflict with our need to conserve and watch our expenses. We may want to do more today, but if we consider our budget and our finances we might take a less extravagant approach. We can stretch our monies, still put on a good show, yet not put ourselves into financial debt. Today is a day to weigh in the balance what we truly need and what we merely want. We may feel that it is a choice of more or less. We don’t have to go to either extreme, but rather can consider the most effective ways to do things at the least amount of expense. Thursday also brings to an end the Mercury retrograde that we have dealt with over the past three weeks. While we are not out of the woods yet, we can see a clearing when we can fix any misunderstandings, correct any miscommunications and start to move forward in regard to our relationships and also our financial structure. Whenever Mercury is turning retrograde to direct or vice versa, the energy is ratcheted up. Therefore, we have to recognize that there could be significant traffic problems, computer glitches and other screw-ups today.

Friday, November 2nd – Party Time or T.G.I.M.D. – Neptune, Jupiter, Mercury. Friday is the first full day of Mercury direct. While we are still under the ‘shadow’ of the Mercury retrograde, our communications are less likely to be hampered by misinformation, lack of information or stony silence. Yes, we may all be saying T.G.I.M.D. --- thank goodness it’s Mercury direct. Friday also has the Moon in Leo opposed Neptune and trine Jupiter. We may feel like we want to celebrate and have a good time. Why not? We do have to watch for over-indulgence and also to check things out before we go whole hog. People may be slightly belligerent and full of expectations regarding what other people should be doing. Monday morning quarter-backing, or Friday in this case, is great and we all know that hindsight is twenty-twenty. Today is a good day to check in with our significant other, see if we are on the same page. If we are not, then we can address matters in a clear and less emotional or confused manner. We do have to watch that our desire to expand our interests and our self-confidence don’t get us entrapped in situations that may seem good from the outside but could be convoluted once we get immersed. Friday is far better to have a good time with no expectations from other people or expectations regarding how long it should last.

Saturday, November 3rd – Pulling in the reins – Pluto, Saturn. Friday night into early Saturday morning could have us having a good time. Perhaps we’ve been having too good a time. Late on Friday, early Saturday the Leo Moon trines Pluto. We may crescendo with our partying or our sense of self-importance. Then as we awaken, we find ourselves in a totally different frame of mind. The Moon moves into Virgo where it conjuncts Saturn. We might feel that our responsibilities are knocking loudly on our consciousness. We may feel that Saturday has to be devoted to errands and taking care of business. If we’ve had too good a time over the past two days, we could feel a little queasy. And if we have over exerted ourselves, we would have to watch for flu-like symptoms forcing us to put everything on hold. The energies slow down on this Saturday but they also allow us to concentrate on the details and the specifics of our lives. Fun is fun, but today we might have to play catch-up with things that we’ve put aside over the past two days. Saturday is a good day to plan our best practices methodology for dealing with our obligations and tying up loose ends.

Sunday, November 4th – Shifting Sands – Sun, Mars, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Jupiter. Sunday may give us a second wind. It certainly is a good day to do some home renovation projects, to do some autumnal cleaning in preparation of the winter ahead. Today we have the Sun trine Mars and the Virgo Moon sextile both Mars and the Sun. We can work smarter rather than harder today, clearing up the clutter and cleaning up our home space. The Moon also creates a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Uranus and squares Jupiter. What we do have to watch for are distractions and trying to do too many things at once. If we can be methodical in our approach, deal with our ‘to do’ lists and yet still have time to do things on the spur-of-the-moment, then we would be using today’s energies wisely. Otherwise, we could find ourselves flipping from dealing with certain items on our ‘to do’ list, not completing them but starting them, then being drawn to a distraction that is more fun yet only creates a greater mess for ourselves. This Sunday is a high energy day. So let’s try to plan our course of action with some intervals of free time to take advantage of what strikes our fancy in the moment.
