June 4th - 10th

This week continues our sense of enthusiasm, even to the point of irrational exuberance. Mars trines Jupiter and the Sun opposes Jupiter, egging us on to do more and convincing us that we are invincible.

People may be rather self-inflated this week. Venus moves into Leo and we may find that our relationships are serving as a stage on which we can perform as we seek to be in the spotlight.

Grandiose extremes this week could be in style, as people seek to put their best foot forward and one-up each other. While the uniqueness of individuality might be the flavor of the week, it could become nothing more than a sense of a maddening crowd with everyone elbowing to be in the center ring.

Towards the end of the week and over the weekend, we may find that we’ve pushed the envelope a little too far. The Sun squares Uranus. Unexpected situations can create twists and turns that demand we be nimble and quick by being in the moment and dealing with the spontaneous as things come up.

We might be on cloud nine this week, enjoying ourselves and having a good time. If we don’t budget our time and our finances, we could go into overwhelm and rack up significant expenses.

‘Moderation in all things’ would be a wise adage to keep in mind this week. Let’s focus on our personal best, maintain diplomatic decorum and pace ourselves.

Monday, June 4th – Stretching Beyond Our Limits – Mars, Jupiter, Venus

Monday begins the week with Mars trine Jupiter. This energy configuration is part of the Fire Grand Trine this month with Mars in its own Sign of Aries trining Jupiter in Sagittarius, exact today, and trining Saturn in Leo next Monday. Yes, we’re in the thick of a Fire Grand Trine. We may feel energized, self-focused and even self-absorbed. We might feel as though the world revolves around us. While such an attitude is great for pushing our interests and asserting our desires, it may not be so great for collaborative efforts. We do have to watch that we don’t lose sight of other people’s needs and that we are not receptive listeners. We may feel exuberant, enthusiastic and optimistic today and tomorrow, for today we have Mars trine Jupiter, tomorrow the Sun opposes Jupiter. We could stretch beyond our limits, not looking to be constricted or restrained and wanting to push the envelope. We also have the Capricorn Moon today, a placement that makes the Moon uncomfortable being in its Sign of Detriment. The Moon opposes Venus so our sense of diplomacy and consideration of other people’s perspectives could be lacking today. We need to watch that our ambitions and desires don’t have us stretching beyond our limits and creating situations that could prove problematic for us in the future. Today is a day for us to feel upbeat and energized but also to tread cautiously when it comes to being aware of our circumstances, our conditions and the situations operating around us.

Tuesday, June 5th – No Stopping Us Now – Sun, Jupiter, Venus Leo. Tuesday may find us still pushing our self-interests forward, and all with little regard for the way it impacts other people. Today, we have the Sun opposed Jupiter. Although we can feel enthusiastic, we have to be careful that we’re not over optimistic. We could believe our own hype, a sense of wish fulfillment and even seeing ourselves as legends, in our own mind. Our exuberance can be ratcheted up by the Moon in Aquarius sextiling Jupiter and trining the Sun. Our focus may be on our future plans, spreading our wings and reinventing ourselves. Of course, in reinventing ourselves we could fall prey to the idea that we can master the world. If we go there, let’s be careful that we don’t set ourselves up. Let’s keep in mind the idea that the higher we climb, the longer the fall. The more we can rein in our exuberance, the less likely we will over-extend ourselves or go brashly forward without checking conditions. This week can be a week of good thoughts and good feelings, but we do have to be careful that we don’t overstep the bounds and do whatever we please without considering its impact on other people or the consequences of our actions. Tuesday also has Venus leaving Cancer and entering Leo. We’re looking for fun and good times and to be in the spotlight with beautiful people.

Wednesday, June 6th - Betwixt and Between Reality and Delusion – Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto. Wednesday has us doing the dance with the Saturn Neptune opposition as the Aquarius Moon conjuncts Neptune and opposes Saturn. If we feel frustrated by our situation, we could easily jump into a fantasyland where everything seems to work out. Lovely concept but it may be more delusional than realistic. The Moon sextiles Mars and also sextiles Pluto. If we get ourselves worked up about something, then we could pull out all stops and go for it. Today is a day that demands that we take some time, consider our actions and consider what might be triggering our actions. We could easily get caught up in the moment and in our emotion and proceed down a garden path without considering the pitfalls that might be littering our pathway. Today would be a day to count to ten before acting or reacting, to blueprint our actions and to restrain ourselves from jumping into situations before we’ve carefully evaluated them. Now is a time to slow down since we could be moving too fast.

Thursday, June 7th – Reveries, Contemplations, and Other Thoughts – Mercury. Thursday has the Pisces Moon trine Mercury. We could easily find ourselves lost in our thoughts, pleasant memories filtering through our consciousness, ideas of how we can make our lives more a sanctuary of serenity and comfort. Today would be a good day to blueprint and plan. Our intuition could be strong and our feelings impacted by our surroundings. We may feel highly receptive, even susceptible, so let’s keep focused on mindfulness and not allow our minds to wander off into anxious or fearful spaces. We have to keep our thoughts upbeat for today we could be like a sponge taking to water picking up the energies around us and allowing them to impact us too strongly. Our communications with others can be heart felt and our discussions very emotional. If we take some time to ponder, answers can come forward. We can understand what is being said and sense what people are feeling.

Friday, June 8th – Bouncing Along - Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Sun, Uranus. Friday is one of those days when we might want to do something other than what we have scheduled. We have a Lunar T-Square in the Mutable Signs, as the Pisces Moon squares Jupiter in Sagittarius and squares the Sun in Gemini. We may go from one thing to another, but we’re looking to go to those things that are unfamiliar, out of our usual realm, that are thrilling and exciting. The Moon conjuncts Uranus. The unexpected appeals to us and we’re willing to stretch beyond our normal circumstance. With a lack of Earth and punctuated by the lack of Virgo in the Mutable T-Square, this Friday could be one of those days when we skip over things, glossing by on our way to something far more enlivening. We could be feeling our oats today, wanting to be free to do what we want and be whom we care to be. This day is a good day to explore without overextending, to test the waters without diving into the deep end, to be loose about everything and not feel that we have to overly commit to anything. Let’s enjoy ourselves without entangling ourselves.

Saturday, June 9th – Champing at the Bit – Sun, Uranus, Pluto, Venus, Mercury. Saturday reinforces the Uranus energy we felt yesterday. If we don’t have plans for the day, all the better. We are more interested in the spontaneous and to do things as they come up. And come up they may. Saturday has the Sun square Uranus right on the heels of yesterday’s Moon conjunct Uranus. Whatever we are doing, we might prefer just taking off and not feeling tied down by plans or obligations. Our sleep state might be animated because we have the Pisces Moon square Pluto early in the day. We might feel uncomfortable in our own skin, feeling victimized or reactive to situations not of our making. We want to do our own thing and have no limitations, restrictions or anyone, including ourselves, to answer to. Contributing to our sense of independence and emphasizing our unique individuality, we have the Moon in Aries trine Venus and square Mercury. Home projects and family activities may have to be put on hold as we allow ourselves to vent our need for freedom of movement and independence. We’re looking for fun times and willing to shirk expectations.

Sunday, June 10th – On Top of the World – Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mars, Neptune. Sunday can be a special day, even the best of the week. We have the Fire Grand Trine as the Moon in Aries trines both Saturn in Leo and Jupiter in Sagittarius. The Moon also sextiles the Sun and Neptune and conjuncts Mars. Sunday we could be rearing to go. We can feel energized and at the top of our game. We’re operating on all eight cylinders and able to put our best foot forward. We know what we want and know how to get it. Getting out into the world, traveling, engaging in sports activities or taking in a show or a movie are things that could put a smile on our face. We’re looking for the gusto in life today, and likely to find it.

June 11th - 17th

This week begins on a grounded note. After several days of getting carried away by our enthusiasm, our feet can touch the ground. We start the week with the Sun sextile Mars, the Sun sextile Saturn and Mars trine Saturn. We can create solid foundations to our projects and practical means to achieve our desired results. We have the drive and the focus to accomplish a lot.

From a pragmatic approach to begin the week, mid-week finds us influenced by the Neptune energies as the Sun trines Neptune and Mars sextiles Neptune. Suddenly, our plans can go from realistic concepts to hoped-for fantasies by embellishing and adding on to them. We could get swept up in possibilities and prospects. We might leap ahead envisioning what could be and leaving behind what really is.

The potential for confusion can ratchet up towards the end of the week. The Gemini New Moon offers a broad spectrum of options. Some alternatives might merely be seeking change for the sake of change.

Instead of adding on more activities, we might consider those involvements that truly interest us contrasted to those situations that are merely distractions. A spring cleaning to rid ourselves of the superfluous could be called for.

Our thoughts and communications can get a little fuzzy as Mercury turns retrograde for the next three weeks. Before we make any significant decisions, let’s check the details, review the matter and be certain before committing.

Monday, June 11th – Incisive, Deliberate, Putting It All Together – Sun, Mars, Saturn, Pluto, Venus. Monday begins the week on a high note with the Fire Grand Trine ignited once again. Last Monday, we had Mars in Aries trine Jupiter in Sagittarius. Today, we have Mars in Aries trine Saturn in Leo. The three Fire Signs are all connected. The Sun in Gemini adds a little flavoring by the Sun sextiling both Mars and Saturn. Monday is a day when we have the drive, the passion and the focused intent to put it all together. We can neatly fit various pieces into the puzzle today. In addition, the wee small hours of the early morning gives us the Aries Moon trine Pluto before the Moon moves into Taurus where it squares Venus. Our sense of what we need to do and what we want to do for ourselves is strong. Nothing can get in our way today, even if some people feel that we’re grandstanding or being a little too self-focused. Today is a good day to be self-focused. We can accomplish a lot and move our interests forward. Not only do we have the energy to advance our ambitions, we also have the structure and the strategy to make things work effectively. We’re not building on sand today. We’re on solid rock. In Numerology, the 11th is a master number, the number of the Visionary. With our goals in mind, we can come up with the most appropriate means to get from where we are to where we want to go. The only downside to today would be if we were to get carried away with our sense of ourselves and fritter away the energies on needless self-exploitation.

Tuesday, June 12th – The Blinders of Push, Pulls – Mercury, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Neptune. Tuesday is one of those days when we could find ourselves in the middle, and possibly in a muddle, as we are torn between new ways of doing things and the so-called ‘tried and true’. The Taurus Moon sextiles both Mercury and Uranus today. We can be insightful, come up with new ways of doing things and even consider an element of Spring cleaning in order to streamline our operations. Where a problem could arise is our dependence and reliance on old patterns and old methodologies. Today, the Moon also creates a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Saturn and also squares Neptune. We are back in the push, pulls of the Saturn Neptune opposition with which we’ve been doing the dance since last Autumn. The Saturn Neptune opposition finally ends at the end of the month, but we’re still being challenged and tested by our discernment to separate fact from fiction, to see reality without getting snookered by the appearance. Tuesday is a day to check and recheck everything that we’ve done. Let’s ask ourselves the question as to whether we are doing things in the most expeditious manner or if we are relying on old methodologies. We could easily be led astray today if we don’t take into account variables, options and alternatives to the way we’ve always done things. Things may also take longer than we like today. Let’s not try to rush the river. While delays could prove frustrating, they may also be the necessary means to keep us from rushing headlong into an abyss. Tuesday is a day to move forward judiciously, cautiously and to be certain to scan and look all around.

Wednesday, June 13th – Lost in the Wonder of it All – Sun, Neptune, Mars, Venus. Wednesday could be a day when we get entranced by the possibilities and the prospects. We might feel as if we’ve entered a magical time of an idyllic paradise. The Sun sexiles Neptune and Mars sextiles Neptune. We also have the Moon in Gemini sextile Venus. We could be singing a song, feeling like nothing can go wrong. This day can be one of those special days when we feel like we’re walking on clouds. Unfortunately, we also need to try and keep our feet on the ground. Otherwise, we might fall into fantasyland, assuming that everything and anything can occur the way we wish it would. Nice concept, but we need to realize that often prospects and possibilities seem far easier to realize in concept and in the abstract than in the reality of it. Our presentations today can be inspired. We can put forth a good show, presenting our plans with an imaginative flair. The question remains whether we are fully taking into account all the necessary ingredients by which our dreams can come true. Yes, this Wednesday could be a dreamy sort of day but we need to maintain a semblance of groundedness or we could find that our imagination gets the better of us without our plans being backed up by reality.

Thursday, June 14th – Champing at the Bit – Gemini New Moon, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune, Mars, Sun. Thursday gives us the Gemini New Moon with the Sun Moon conjunction sextile both Saturn and Mars and trine Neptune. The Moon also creates a Mutable Sign T-Square as it first opposes Jupiter then squares Uranus. Now is a time for us to give thought to our future and how we can get there from here. We could easily find ourselves all over the place with the distinct possibility that we’re not considering the details, dealing with the specifics or taking into account the particulars. Today is a day to consider our prospects and to think things over. It is not a day to act rashly or definitively. We may want to broaden our activities and try something new. It’s all well and good to experiment and test things out, but it could prove unwise to launch into a long-term commitment or take on further obligations. Our moods could go through some wild swings today. We don’t want to be blocked or have our wishes denied. But we have to question whether we are considering things from a realistic perspective or merely taking a plunge for the sake of change.

Friday, June 15th – On Edge – Pluto, Mercury retrograde. Friday begins the day with the Gemini Moon opposed Pluto. We could awaken somewhat irritable, trying to figure out greater meaning for our lives but just feeling we’re spinning our wheels. The Moon then moves into its own Sign of Cancer and we might find ourselves retreating into our home stance. Mercury turns retrograde today, the second of this year’s three Mercury retrograde cycles. Retrograding through Cancer, various issues associated with home, family, past experiences could provide us with issues and problems over the next three weeks. Certainly, communications and travel plans may be off. We’ll have to watch for any computer glitches that could cause havoc with our transmissions, our movement or our communications. Today is a day to go slow, not feel overly sensitive and keep in mind the wise adage: one day at a time.

Saturday, June 16th – Renovating our Homes, Reconnecting with Family – Mercury, Uranus. Saturday has the Cancer Moon conjunct Mercury which has turned retrograde. The Moon also trines Uranus. Today could be a day of family get-togethers and inviting people over to our homes. Our sensitivity is turned up, our emotions at fever pitch. We may want to work on home projects or just spend time around our house. We might also have to address matters we thought once completed. Adding a little flavor to our lives could be enticing. Tag sales, yard sales, consignment shops could all have a pull as we look for that quirky little something to add some more panache to our environment. Today is also a day when we may feel called to do things on the spur of the moment. No matter our plans, we may want to spice them up with the spontaneous and the impulsive.

Sunday, June 17th – Father’s Day – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday is Father’s Day in the US, the day we celebrate good old Dad. The day begins with the Moon in Cancer square Mars in Aries. Not an auspicious start to the day, for we may feel that we have to do certain things out of obligation. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost ten hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo. The Moon in Leo is appropriate for Father’s Day since Leo is the Sign of the Male Energy, the archetypal male being our Dad. Yes, Dad is in the spotlight but we may all have an oedipal streak going on whereby we see Dad from two totally different perspectives --- as our father and support, but also as our competitor and adversary. Let’s embrace the eastern tradition of reverence for our elders and keep in mind the saying that the acorn does not fall far from the tree. If we’re not doing Dad’s Day today, we could focus our time and our energy on recreational activities, sports and fun events. Even if we are, there’s no reason not to incorporate some fun and good times with Dad.

June 18th - 24th

This week is an active week, one when we are determined to embrace the cornucopia of doing life. We want it all, and a tendency to indulgence and excess is in the air.

Early in the week, Venus trines Jupiter as the Sun opposes Pluto. We may feel as though our soul has been laid bare, and in compensation we may look to live for the day. Any discomfort within ourselves is likely to find expression in extravagance. We could spend too much, eat too much, even enjoy ourselves too much.

We are being asked to engage our transformation, the shapeshifting of transitioning from the caterpillar into the butterfly. The process may not always seem comfortable and we could mask it by focusing on having a good time, no matter the expense.

Sobriety steps in mid-week as we enter Summer with the Sun moving into Cancer at the time that Mars trines Pluto. Plans for the Summer include having a special time, vacation or activities, that will have real meaning and be remembered for all time. We don’t want to skim through life. We want the depth and passion of living that will make our heart sing. This week allows us to discern between the essence and the superfluous fluff.

Over the weekend, Mars leaves its own sign of Aries and enters Taurus. Much of our fiery energy can move from an impulsive self-assertiveness to a reliable and focused intent.

Monday, June 18th – Feeling the Buzz – Venus, Jupiter. Monday starts the week with the Leo Moon conjunct Venus and trine Jupiter. It’s a nice way to start the week for we’re looking for fun and adventure. We’re feeling good about life, part of it may be the sense of summer coming along this week. Our thoughts and interests today are likely to revolve around enjoying ourselves. Everyone may be grandstanding today, putting on the Ritz and looking to engage in a little indulgence. We could spend too much, indulge too much, but our focus is on having a good time. We’re willing to spare no expense to do so. A truly expansive day, this day can be a blast. We might not get a lot of our responsibilities accomplished but we’ll have a good time today. We’ll certainly see to that.

Tuesday, June 19th – Keeping it Coming Now – Sun, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Mars. Tuesday is a energy-packed day and could prove rather paradoxical. The caroming between asserting ourselves and the shapeshifting of transformation can be one that has on a real roller coaster. Our emotions, activities and interests can go through real ups and downs today. On one hand, we have the Sun opposed Pluto and the Leo Moon doing its dance with the Saturn Neptune opposition by the Moon conjunct Saturn and opposed Neptune. We may feel as though the rug has been pulled out from under us. We could also feel like we’re in one of those theme park fun houses with the floor slanting wildly one way and then another. We could easily be thrown off balance, confused by what seems to be going on and wondering how we fit into any of it. On the other hands, Venus trines Jupiter and the Moon in Leo also creates a Grand Trine in the Fire Element with the Moon trine Mars in Aries and trine Pluto in Sagittarius. The Moon also sextiles the Sun. We may be in an exuberant attitude, seeing where we can express ourselves creatively, asserting our passion and putting our imprint on our activities. While the whipsaw of the day could have us soaring with the eagles then plummeting to depths unfathomable, the more we can balance the two extremes the less likely we will be to go through the wild gyrations. Let’s recognize that we have the strength and character to make the changes that are truly necessary for our evolution all the while not getting carried away by a tendency toward excess.

Wednesday, June 20th – Back on the Ground – Mercury, Jupiter. Wednesday provides a more realistic and pragmatic approach to life compared to the last two days when we may easily have been involved with going overboard in the way we were doing things. Today has the Virgo Moon, and we now have some of the Earth Element for us to take on a more practical attitude. Instead of getting swept up in the enthusiasms, even delusions, of the moment, we now can see things in their specifics and by their details. The Virgo Moon sextiles Mercury and squares Jupiter. Although we are still likely to have the tendency towards excess and indulgence, our mind is sharp and focused. We can see what truly works for us and what is only a distraction and diversion from our straight and narrow journey forward. Today would be a good day to go back over the activities of the past two days, consider where we might have been too enthusiastic and take care of particulars we might have skipped over earlier. Our thoughts turn to the analytical and rational. We are less influenced by wish fulfillment now, and we can make reasoned and seasoned judgments. We can review the recent past and blueprint our future steps. This Wednesday is a good day to tie up loose ends, line our ducks up in a row and bring the Spring Season to a close.

Thursday, June 21st – Hot Time in the Summertime – Mars, Pluto, Uranus. Thursday is the day of the Summer Solstice, the day in the Northern Hemisphere of the longest amount of sunlight. The Sun enters Cancer bringing in the Summer Season. The Summer Solstice chart gives us a sense of what our Summer may look like. Hot, hot, hot. Whether the heat is the climate condition or the passion with which we engage this Summer, this Summer could prove hot, hot, hot. The Solstice chart as indicated in my Summer Seasonal write-up has a Grand Trine in the Fire Element linking up all three Fire Signs of Aries with Mars, Leo with Venus and Saturn, and Sagittarius with Jupiter and Pluto. On this day, the Mars Pluto trine is exact. We are determined, passionate and not looking to brook any interference to our plans or our intentions. We’re in high gear, ready to put our mark on situations and looking to broaden our reach and expand our realm. Many of us may be considering travel plans, moving far beyond our ordinary circumstance. We might also consider activities that help us come closer to the quality of lifestyle we want and feel entitled to. Yes, there can be a sense of entitlement now. Fortunately, we do have the Moon in Virgo providing a grounding rod for our enthusiasms and exuberance. The Moon today opposes Uranus so we could find that our emotions go through twists and turns. There can be times when we feel invincible, other times when we feel victimized. The key to maintaining a semblance of sanity is not to allow ourselves to rush off without considering our parameters or our circumstance. It is far better for us to evaluate and consider before heading off impetuously. We’re looking for this Summer to be one we remember, filled with passion, fun activities and an easy transformation into a freer and more self-determined lifestyle.

Friday, June 22nd – Stepping on Toes – Pluto, Sun. Friday could have us awaken in a fairly intense mood. The Virgo Moon squares Pluto before the Moon moves into Libra where it squares the Sun. We could feel a little out of sorts today. We might feel as though our daily responsibilities and our normal routine are clipping our wings and keeping us from doing that which is closest to our heart. We may feel petulant today, begrudging our ordinary situations and resenting people in our lives that are putting hurdles in the way of our going off freely in the direction of our dreams. The 22nd is a Master Number in Numerology and speaks to the Master Builder. Although we can lay down some foundation stones today, we may be more in the mood of a wrecking crew, wanting to eliminate and get rid of those situations, even people, that seem to get in our way of us doing our own thing. Today is day that calls for diplomacy and decorum. Nice concept, but we’re more likely to find that people are blowing off steam or just not as available to us as they usually are.

Saturday, June 23rd – Feeling Groovy – Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus rretrograde. Saturday has the Libra Moon square Mercury and sextile both Jupiter and Venus. Today is a good day to spend quality time with our significant other. We might have pulls regarding our home and family matters, but we’re looking for that special activity or event to share with someone. Uranus turns retrograde, so it would be wise to write our plans in pencil and be adaptable to changing our schedule on the spur of the moment. Unexpected situations could arise that force us to be nimble and quick. But our primary focus is more on others than our self. We’re interested in other people’s projects, their lives, their personalities. The more we explore with another, the more we will understand them and understand ourselves. Many of our life’s greatest lessons are taught by our social interactions. Saturday is a great to engage with others. This weekend can be a truly pleasant one, especially if we’re looking through other people’s perspective and embracing the joy in living.

Sunday, June 24th – Sunday in the Park – Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, Mars, Mars Taurus. Sunday continues the pleasantries of this weekend. The Libra Moon sextiles Saturn, trines Neptune, sextiles Pluto and opposes Mars. Today is a good day to gather with friends and take in a movie, a concert or a Summertime festival. It’s one of those lazy days when we’re far more accommodating than usual. We want to grab for the gusto in living and recreational activities could be beckoning us. We’re putting our responsibilities and work lives on the back burner this weekend, taking the time with those special people in our lives. We are feeling the influence of the Saturn Neptune opposition exact tomorrow, so let’s be aware of the paradox between fact and fiction. Things that seem too good to be true just might be. That shouldn’t dampen our spirits, and we are likely to be in high spirits today. Later in the day, Mars leaves its own Sign of Aries and enters a Sign of its Detriment, Taurus, where Mars is not comfortable. Mars coming into Taurus does give us a planet in the Earth Element and we might find ourselves becoming more practical, less impulsive and more likely to be plodding along. A great weekend this one, so let’s be sure to get out and celebrate it.

June 21, 2007

Summer 2007

This Summer begins with the Summer Solstice and the Sun’s entrance into the Cardinal Water Sign of Cancer on June 21st. This Summer starts on a fiery note with a Grand Trine in the Fire Signs linking all three of the Fire Signs with Mars in Aries, Venus and Saturn in Leo, and Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius.

At the time of the Summer Solstice, we have five planets in Fire Signs, one planet in an Earth Sign, one planet in an Air Sign and three planets in Water Signs. There are three planets in a Cardinal Sign, three planets in Fixed Signs and four planets in Mutable Signs. Six planets are in Positive Signs [Fire – Air] and four planets are in Negative Signs [Earth – Water].

While we begin the Summer with a Grand Trine in the Fire Signs, we also begin the season with a Mutable Sign T-Square. We may have a great deal of energy, but we could also find ourselves all over the place, overwhelmed by having too much on our plate. The Mutable Sign T-Square has the Moon in Virgo, Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius and Uranus in Pisces. We have gone through a month of a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Sun transited Gemini. While the Mutable Sign T-Square loses the Moon in Virgo in less than twenty-four hours, the Summer Solstice chart and the Summer itself is under the influence of a Mutable Sign T-Square.
With the Moon in Virgo being the only Earth Element, this Summer begins with a lack of Earth. Our practicality may not be the strongest, especially with the influence of the Saturn Neptune opposition that has daunted us since last Autumn. The issue of appearance versus reality continues. We have to be careful that we don’t buy into our projections or seek an escape from our normal circumstances in fantasies of possibilities that are only illusions. The question of fact or fiction remains to challenge our opinions and test our judgments.

This test or challenge is increased by Summer starting under the Mercury retrograde configuration. As mentioned above, this second of this year’s three Mercury retrogrades started back on the 15th of June and continues through the 9th of July. Communications can be off, travel plans might be disrupted and we could experience various computer glitches. Misunderstandings may run rampant, especially in light of the added factors of [1] the Saturn Neptune opposition whereby we could easily get seduced by the wizard of oz screen without pulling back the curtain to see the little guy punching the buttons, and [2] the lack of Earth combined with the emphatic Fire and Water embellishing our emotions and passions but without the reasoned thought behind them.

Summertime is a time when the living once was easy, but we may find this Summer to be fast-paced and fairly intense. The Saturn Neptune opposition is exact on the 25th of June keeping us wondering whether we are walking the garden path or meandering through minefields. Our sense of certainty may be questionable at best and probably should be. This configuration has created a questioning of our ability all the while being enticed by possibilities for our future. Old issues that have yet to be completed may pop up again, and we could find ourselves doing a walk down Memory Lane. We do have to watch for any element of revisionism where we view our experiences from an emotional perspective rather than true reality.

We pick up some Earth on the 24th of June as Mars exits its own Sign of Aries and moves into Taurus, a Sign of its Detriment where Mars is not comfortable. Our self-assertions, self-affirmations and even our rashness and impetuousness can shift to a more plodding, stubborn, unyielding quality. It does slow things down a bit, and provides a reliable and focused intent.

The Capricorn Full Moon on the 30th of June feels the influence of the Saturn Neptune opposition with added weight of Venus exactly opposing Neptune and Venus close to conjunction with Saturn. We could easily deceive ourselves, seduced by appearance and winding up looking for love in all the wrong places. Our interactions with others may include various reunions and reconnections, but we might also question what our connection with these people might have been in the first place. We could be sorely disappointed in our contacts with others. If we could use our social get-togethers as a mirror to show us how much we have changed, we’re less likely to take personal affront at any discomfort we might feel or a sense of guilt from other people’s expectations of us.

July 1st has the Venus Saturn conjunction exact. Mercury sextiles Mars at the same time. This weekend could demand that obligations be met. Home projects or family situations may be on the agenda for us. We may have family get-togethers with all their mixed blessings or might feel the obligation to include people into our social plans out of commitment rather than desire. We could be reconnecting with people from our past. While we might be doing a walk down Memory Lane, we should also consider stretching beyond normal routine and habit patterns. Although we might be tempted to postpone our planned commitments, hide out and hang out the sign ‘gone fishing’, it would be best to swallow our distaste and just grin and bear it. Although misunderstandings could be rampant, it is important not to harbor ill feelings. Otherwise, we may feel as though salt is being placed in our wounds.

Venus trines Pluto on the 8th and what a difference from the week before. We’re now more passionate about our relationships, less likely to have expectations or hold up hoops for others to jump through. We might also be meeting people from different backgrounds, people with a depth of character and wealth of experience.
Mercury turns direct on the 9th of July, ending its three-week retrograde cycle. Much of the confusion and some of the problems we might have experienced regarding home, family, travel and communication matters can now straighten themselves out. We may ‘find’ our tongue, better able to express our feelings. We might also consider making changes to our home.

The 11th of July has the Sun trine Uranus. With the recent impetus to expand our scope and broaden our reach, we may seek to incorporate changes to our routine. Thrills, excitement and adventure may be what we’re looking for. Getting down to the shore and taking in water activities could be a fun way to cool off the summer heat.
We are certainly champing at the bit and wanting to be free to explore and stretch and discover new aspects of our selves. This energy is accentuated by the Cancer New Moon on the 14th of July with the Sun Moon conjunction trine Uranus. Change is in the air, and we want to embrace it. Whether we have summer renovation projects or decide to move things around, we may want to streamline our living space and make our life easier. We want to free ourselves up, be more spontaneous, even impetuous. The 14th also sees Venus moving into Virgo adding another planet to the Earth Element. Venus in Virgo could also have us critiquing our relationships. People could have a carping attitude, looking at the flaws either in others or in themselves. A critical disposition could put a damper on our social skills.

July 16th, Mars sextiles Uranus. We can work smarter rather than harder. We might discover new means by which to increase our revenue stream. We may stretch our wings, become aware of unexpected matters that could be more in tune with where we want to go.

On July 22nd – 23rd, Sun enters its own Sign of Leo. We’re looking for fun, engaging in recreational activities and embracing the height of summer activities. While we might feel a burst of energy, we do have to watch for accidents or missteps. Mars squares Neptune on the 24th and Mars squares Saturn on the 31st. Although we may be feeling energetic, we also need to be careful. Ill-considered actions could lay us low, either wiping us out energetically or triggering muscle sprains or accidents. Mars creates a T-Square in the Fixed Signs squaring Neptune in Aquarius and squaring Saturn in Leo. This T-Square could put us between a rock and a hard place and engages again the Saturn Neptune opposition that keeps us wondering whether we’re dealing in reality or with fantasy.

With Venus turning retrograde on the 27th and the Aquarius Full Moon on the 29th – 30th, relationship issues could surface. Everyone may want to be in the spotlight and the sense of consideration for other people might be lacking. One thing for us to avoid is drawing lines in the sand. People may not be cutting enough slack for each other. Attitudes could turn belligerent even to the point of verbal or physical confrontation.

Now is not a time to have more brawn than brain. The Mercury trine Uranus on the 28th gives us insights as to how best to handle situations. While we have the Fixed Sign T-Square triggered by Mars in Taurus, the Mercury Uranus trine allows us to think outside the box and come up with the most effective solutions. Flexibility is key. The less fixed and the more adaptable we can be, we’re likely to find opening to us a vast new world to discover and explore.

The beginning of August feels light and airy. Early August could see us out and about, heading off for summer vacation or filling our summer time with fun, upbeat activities.

With the Sun trine Jupiter on the 2nd, we can regain our confidence and recognize that any recent blockages were only as if we had stubbed our toe. It may have been a painful misstep but not a lasting catastrophe. Our exuberance and optimism re-emerges and we’re ready again to put our mark on everything we do. Suddenly, we get a second wind. We’re determined to make our plans a reality. Even if we assumed our resources were limited, we can find a way to make them work for us. With Mercury sextile Mars on the 3rd, we could come up with inventive ideas to stretch a dollar and put on a show that is dazzling and impressive without breaking the bank.

On August 4th, Mercury enters Leo creating a stellium of three or more planets in the Fixed Fire Sign. We’re seeking recreational activities, and wanting joy in our living. We might decide now is the time to step off the track and take a holiday or, at least, a break from our daily routine.

Saturn trines Pluto on the 6th, the same day that Jupiter turns direct. Our fire is turned up and our creative spark ignited. We are not like a shooting star blazing across the midnight sky only to burn out. Our efforts are well-considered, and our actions measured and methodical. We can accomplish a great deal. If we are looking for encouragement and support, we need to look to ourselves. Venus square Mars on the 7th could provoke irritations in our contact with others. We might find that people are making demands on us. Also on the 7th, Mars leaves Taurus to enter Gemini. And Venus on the 8th retrogrades out of Virgo to enter Leo. We’ve now lost connection to the Earth and a sense of impracticality could take its place.

On the 9th, Mercury trines Jupiter giving us a sense of inspired uplift and on the 12th – 13th we have the Leo New Moon with five planets in Leo. With seven planets in Fire Signs, everyone is a star and standing in their own spotlight. We need to watch that we’re not a shooting star, streaking across the sky of activities only to burn out. With no Earth and a tease from Neptune, our enthusiasms and self-interests could get in the way of realistic appraisals and rational judgment. We might have difficulty getting our bearings. We need to be careful that we don’t rush headlong into anything until we are certain as to where we are going.

On August 13th, the Sun opposes Neptune and Venus conjuncts Saturn, followed on the 14th by Mercury opposed Neptune. We might make assumptions based upon our desires and what we want to be true rather than the reality of the situation. Relationships could be a tug of war so diplomacy and consideration would be suggested in the place of stubborn self-interest.

We can re-engage our passions and repair any relationship problems on the 15th as Venus trines Pluto and Mercury conjuncts the Sun. We can say what we mean, have heart-to-heart discussions and be focused in our intent. The intensity of our concentration can be ratcheted up as we come to the weekend.

The weekend of the 17th-19th is action-packed with various energy configurations. On the 17th, Mercury conjuncts Venus, Venus conjuncts the Sun and Mercury trines Pluto. Our ability to concentrate is almost laser-like. We can strip away the nonessentials and get to the substance of any matter. On the 18th, Mercury conjuncts Saturn and on the 19th the Sun trines Pluto with Mercury leaving Leo to enter its own Sign of Virgo. If we harness our drive and determination, we can effectively blend brain and brawn, using the force of our will with insightful means to achieve our goals. It will be important to check on our actions and consider our decisions as we go along, a process of slowing down and reviewing before speeding up again.

The latter part of August could prove dicey. We might experience delays, feel lethargic and go through some wild swings of activity – inactivity. We can feel uncomfortable with our lives, champing at the bit to do something, anything that is a break from our ordinary circumstances. We could be feeling antsy. The sense of Summer drawing to a close may be poignant as we feel the weight of our responsibilities bearing down on us.

Some of our greatest plans for this Summer might seem thwarted. The Sun conjuncts Saturn on the 21st. Our recent drive and passion can seem like idle musings as past issues and usual obligations start to call.

Although the Sun moves into Virgo on August 23rd beckoning us back to our normal routine, we are unwilling to let Summer pass. A Mutable Sign T-Square on the 23rd – 24th can keep us hopping, seeking to expand our activities in our quest for fun and good times. Mars opposes Jupiter and Mercury squares Jupiter. We may push ourselves to extremes and gloss over details to embrace the bigger picture of what we want. Like a kid in a candy store, we could engage our sensual delights, wanting more and more. This push to indulgence is increased by Mercury square Mars and Venus opposed Neptune on the 25th. We could easily buy into appearance without considering the substance or the consequence of our decisions. Although in the back of our mind we know better, our actions may be driven more by impulse than well-considered moves.

On the 28th, we have a Pisces Full Moon. With a Grand Cross in the Mutable Signs as the Pisces Moon opposes the Virgo Sun, squares Jupiter in Sagittarius and squares Mars in Gemini; we could be all over the place. Our emotions could go through a real whipsaw, up and down. We may feel buffeted by circumstance. At the time of the Full Moon, Mercury opposes Uranus, both in Mutable Signs. While we could get some startling insights, even ‘Eureka’ moments of solving problems long plaguing us, things are moving very quickly and we need to be nimble and quick to take advantage of sudden opportunities and to deal with unexpected situations. The pace is accelerating rapidly and we need to pick up our pace to a sprint. We may feel on overdrive, having more on our plate than we intended. Defensive driving, backing up computer files and thinking before speaking are all cautionary suggestions to keep us from having problems and difficulties we may need to address and later rectify.

September begins at a fairly frenetic pace. On the 2nd, we have a major Sign change as Saturn ends its two and a half year cycle of Leo and enters the Mutable Earth Sign Virgo. Increasingly, we are likely to focus on our health concerns with primary attention to our intestines. Work issues and our daily routine may be of major concern for all of us. The shifts in energy at the beginning of September can be explosive. On the 3rd, we have a kaleidoscope of energies --- Mercury squares Pluto, Mars squares Uranus, Venus sextiles Mars and the Sun squares Jupiter. There is no going quietly into the night for us. Rather, we can be feeling intense and champing at the bit. People may become hypercritical, looking at the half glass of water as half empty rather than half full. We might discover that we have carved out an existence that keeps us constantly on the go. Now is the time to strategize, plan and figure out the best methods to deal with our responsibilities.

On the 5th, Mercury moves out of its own Sign of Virgo and enters Libra. Our thoughts may turn to relationships, balance and serenity. But we might also recognize the Hopi idea of koyaanisqatsi, life out of balance. Certainly, this early September can have us going through extremes augmented by Pluto turning direct on the 7th and Venus turning direct on the 8th.

On the 9th, Mars trines Neptune and the Sun opposes Uranus. We could be looking at future plans, considering various prospects and entertaining all possibilities. We’re looking for change and possibly looking only at change for the sake of change.

A sense of nervous agitation can be ramped up with the Virgo New Moon on the 11th. With seven planets in Mutable Signs and a Grand Cross in the Mutable Signs at the time of the New Moon, we could be pushed and pulled in various directions during this next fortnight. While we are concentrating on our standing in our community, our work environment and our social circle, we might be thrown off center by the ratcheting up of our activities and involvements. We really have to consider whether we just have too much going on. We may scurry from one thing to another, having to address surprising situations that come up out of the blue, all the while that we’re considering more, more, more.

On the 13th, Mercury sextiles Jupiter. We might want to add on more social activities and plan more social get-togethers. We’re feeling upbeat, but we also have to look out that we don’t bite off more than we can chew. The fast pace of life can be invigorating but could prove exhausting. We have to watch that we don’t commit ourselves to overwhelm which might be exhilarating at the time of our decision but may also have adverse health consequences of burn-out, spiked blood pressure, or nervous anxiety in the future. Now is a time to streamline our operations, to consider the most effective means by which to deal with our responsibilities and allow time for new interests. It is important that we learn to work smarter rather than harder. Mid-September could offer the proving grounds for more effective methods with less expenditure of energy.

The last week of Summer can be a roller coaster with significant ups and downs. Various Mars Pluto aspects can ramp up the energy with us trying to cover all bases only to cast aside some of our involvements. We begin the week with the Sun square Mars on the 17th, mid-week on the 19th Sun squares Pluto and we end the week with Mars opposed Pluto on the 21st.

We could easily get carried away by our personal ambitions, which could prove taxing on our relationships. We have to watch that we don’t draw lines in the sand, demand black and white scenarios without considering the gray matter, or become overly adamant in our opinions.

Fortunately during this time, Mercury sextiles Venus on the 17th and trines Neptune on the 18th. If we take time to think things through and discuss matters with other people, we can make the case for our interests by persuasion and reason. We don’t have to bulldoze our way through or win our point by aggression. We would be more effective combining brain and brawn.

On the 21st, Venus opposes Neptune at the same time that Mars opposes Pluto. We might be infatuated by someone or something, but we have to ask ourselves whether we are buying into first impression or making a seasoned judgment.

Summer 2007... hot times in the summertime...

Mercury retrograde…Communications and clearing the glitches…

Mercury retrograde…Communications and clearing the glitches…
On Friday, June 15th, Mercury turned retrograde and will be retrograde through July 9th. As Mercury is related to communications, our communications can be off and misunderstood. Whenever we go through a retrograde period, we are asked to go back over situations, rework them, refine them and make any necessary corrections.
How true it is! On Saturday the 16th, I received a phone call from someone who wanted to schedule a session with me. They said they had emailed me twice through the contact page of my website with no response. Not having received those e-mails, I went to the contact page of my website and sent myself two e-mails. I did not receive either one of them. Subsequently, I have heard about several other people who had tried to contact me by e-mail through my website.
In this instance, Mercury retrograde alerted me to a significant problem of which I was unaware. I had been surprised not to receive e-mails through my website, but I just assumed that no one was writing me via my contact page.
I am in process of correcting the situation. If you, or someone you know, tried to e-mail me through the contact page of my website, those e-mails have disappeared somewhere in cyberspace and unattainable by me. While the issue should be resolved now, you can always e-mail me through my e-mail address of: FRANKMDON@aol.com or frankdon@mac.com, or frank@frankdon.com.

June 29th - July 1st

This week we might have difficulty separating fact from fiction and fantasy from reality. This week has a Neptunian influence both to begin and end the week.

We start the week with the third and final Saturn opposition Neptune that has dogged us since last Autumn.

The potential for confusion this week can be strong. We might question every step we take, even to the point of repeatedly changing our mind. If we will get out of our own way and stop evaluating ourselves, we could use the energy to formulate the means to achieve our objectives. The key is to maintain detachment and not personalize everything going on around us.

At the time of the Capricorn Full Moon on the 30th, Venus opposes Neptune. We may question our relationships. We could be seduced by appearance and might wind up looking for love in all the wrong places.

This is a week not to have knee-jerk reactions but to count to ten before taking action. It would be best not to reach any definitive conclusions.

July might start with a bit of a thud. We have come off the Capricorn Full Moon with Venus opposed Neptune and might be confused, even critical, about our relationships. Venus conjuncts Saturn and the retrograde Mercury sextiles Mars. Although misunderstandings could be rampant, it is important not to harbor ill feelings. Otherwise, we may feel as though salt is being placed in our wounds.

Monday, June 25th – Real or Unreal – Saturn, Neptune, Sun, Mercury. Monday starts the week with the third and final Saturn opposition to Neptune. This energy configuration has daunted us and challenged us since last Autumn. It raises the question as to whether we’re dealing with fact or fiction. We could be caroming between wish fulfillment and our desires being a popped balloon. The key question is whether we are building upon rock or upon sand. Whatever choices we make now, we have to be very careful that we’ve taken into account all the variables of which we’re aware, considered the circumstances and parameters in which we are operating and not allow ourselves to either run off exuberantly in wild abandon or restrict ourselves to the limitations of our past. If we can blend these two qualities, and that is both the test and the opportunity, then we could find that this day is a highly productive strategic planning period. We can take our dreams and create the structure and most appropriate methodology to make our dreams come true. While we might be walking the balance beam between hard cold reality and fanciful illusions, through balancing the abstract with the practical we can make great strides in developing our future goals. This Monday also has the Scorpio Moon trine both the Sun and Mercury in Cancer. Today would also be a good day to clean house --- to clear away the clutter, focus on the essentials and get our house in order. That house might be our living environment, our plans, our daily activities, or any and all of the forementioned.

Tuesday, June 26th – Between A Rock and a Hard Place or Unexpected Opportunities Opening – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Neptune, Saturn, Uranus. Tuesday is a day to truly think outside the box. If we get stuck in old patterns and old mindsets, then we may feel like a car stuck in the mud spinning our wheels, and we could find this Tuesday to be incredibly frustrating replete with delays and wrong directions, going down one path only to have to stop and turn around. Tuesday we have a Lunar T-Square in the Fixed Signs as the Scorpio Moon squares Venus and Saturn in Leo and squares Neptune in Aquarius. This day could be especially confusing with people grandstanding, stuck in their opinions and unwilling to take blinders off and consider possibilities other than from their own perspective. We could go blindly into the night, like lemmings rushing for the sea, triggered by old patterns, outdated beliefs and misinformation. Aaaarrrggh! Yes, the Fixed Sign T-Square gives us a reprise of our Saturn Neptune opposition, that dance between fact and fiction, between reality and illusion, that we’ve been moving to since last Fall. The good news, however, is that the Moon also trines Uranus. By thinking outside the box, by considering options and alternatives with which we might not be familiar, we have the opportunity of unexpected situations occurring, new doors opening up to us. During these times, the battle of old and new is very much engaged. Are we going to be locked into the old paradigm of sequential, linear reality or are we going to open our minds and our experience to the new paradigm of synchronicity, asequential reality, whereby things can come out from the blue? Today is a day to test those waters. We might be pulled in two different directions --- between our past habit patterns, the familiar ways of operating, and trying things in a new way, even getting out of our own way to allow the universe to unfold. We don’t have to commit to either disposition but it would be wise to notate the pulls of old and new that can go on today.

Wednesday, June 27th – Good Day, Sunshine. Wednesday has no significant planetary aspects. Although they often refer to Wednesday as ‘hump’ day, this Wednesday could seem more like a breather day, even a turning point, from some of the confusions and mismatches that might have gone on over the past two days and some of the more free-flowing energies of the next two days. The intensity lessens as the Moon moves out of Scorpio and enters Sagittarius. We’re likely to feel more optimistic, enthusiastic and exuberant about things. Wednesday is a good day to get out of doors, take a walk in the woods and broaden our scope. We might consider traveling or make travel plans today. We could have the sense of a weight being lifted from us. Let’s enjoy the day, not place heavy duty expectations on ourselves or overly plan our schedule. Today is a day to stop and smell the flowers.

Thursday, June 28th – Life on the Upside – Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus. Thursday continues the upbeat attitude that we might have gained from yesterday. The Sagittarius Moon conjuncts Jupiter and squares Uranus. Although we’re optimistic and enthusiastic today, we also have to be nimble and quick to adapt to unexpected changes in our plans. Flexibility is key today and so too the recognition that sometimes things happen which are not so much of our making as much as situations that we have to respond to. The Sun conjuncts Mercury. Our thoughts may revolve around our home and our family. Planning family vacations would be a good use of today’s energy. Let’s stretch, broaden our perspective and keep in mind that like an eagle we can feather our nest, fly from it to soar on the air currents, always to return to our nest. The sense of taking care of our base of operations and then expanding beyond our normal parameters would be in alignment with today’s energies.

Friday, June 29th – Our Creative Juices Flowing – Venus, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon trine both Venus and Saturn in Leo, sextile Neptune in Aquarius and conjunct Pluto. We could easily express ourselves in a creative, profound and powerful manner today. We’ve got it going on. We’re impassioned by our projects, looking to present ourselves in an appealing and authoritative way and wanting to take our lives to the next level. This day can be a great day to voice our feelings, pronounce our love and plan our idyllic future. And the best part of all could be that as the Moon moves into Capricorn later in the day, we can take our good vibrations and put spirit into action. With our zest for life we can get our plans done.

Saturday, June 30th – The Higher We Climb – Venus, Neptune, Capricorn Full Moon, Mars, Mercury, Sun. If yesterday offered us a peak experience, which it well could have done, Saturday could seem something of a let down. We don’t have to have a hard fall, but we do have to recognize the push – pulls of this Saturday. Venus is heavily entangled in the Neptune Saturn opposition that was exact this past Monday. Today, Venus opposes Neptune. Tomorrow, Venus conjuncts Saturn. We could easily be seduced by appearance, fall madly in love with the image, but we also have to watch that we’re not doing the dance with the trickster. In native American lore, the coyote is the trickster, for the coyote sings its eerie, mournful, beguiling song, enticing its prey into its fold. Like the coyote that appears one way, the reality being quite different; we could experience something similar in our interactions with people today. It would be wise not to give someone the benefit of the doubt but rather to truly question their sincerity, their integrity and their intentions. An element of ‘go slow’ would be advised in our contacts with others today. We also have the Capricorn Full Moon with the Capricorn Moon opposed both Mercury and the Sun in Cancer. Pulls between our involvement in the world and our personal lives could have us in a quandary as to where to place our energy. The idea, as with any opposition, is the balance of the two. If we focus on one side without attending to the other, we’re likely to find that we’re caught in a metronome whereby the issues that we’re not addressing demand our attention with us flipping back and forth between the two areas. Today is a day to find the balance, to be cautious and judicious in our actions and to maintain a sense of healthy skepticism and not take anything for granted.

Sunday, July 1st – Old Issues, Strategic Approaches – Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Mars, Uranus. Sunday gives us the second whammy of the Saturn Neptune opposition. After yesterday when Venus opposed Neptune, today we have Venus conjunct Saturn. If we became infatuated by someone or some thing yesterday, hard cold reality may offer us a wakeup call today. Past situations might resurface for us to address and possibly rectify. Fortunately, Mercury sextiles Mars. Our discussions can be forceful and well thought-out. We can smooth over any wrinkles in our relationships, and we can attend to obligations that might be demanding our attention. The Capricorn Moon sextiles Uranus. So long as we don’t get stuck in old patterns or attached to old beliefs, we can consider alternatives, exercise options and find the most effective ways to make necessary changes, ease out of sticky situations and have things work out in the end.
